Who We Are
Tierracast is located in the scenic wine country of Northern California.
With over 25 years of experience in jewelry manufacturing, we have earned a reputation for
excellence in design and quality. Our cast components are made of Britannia, a lead free pewter,
and our wire findings are made of sterling silver, 14/20 gold filled, 14 Karat, niobium and copper.
Steven Tierra and Alan Joseph are the co-creators of TierraCast. The combination of their
talents developed the vision of TierraCast and the products that we offer. Steven is in charge
of operations, safety and personnel. Alan oversees finance and sales, coordinates the company's
graphics, and also directs the pattern work required for production.
Original Jewelry Designs are a hallmark of our company. We gather inspiration from ancient
cultures, contemporary images, staff and our clients to create the current offering of jewelry
findings. Traditional jewelry techniques are used in combination with innovations such as photo
etching, to create unique and highly detailed master designs. Museum replication techniques are
employed to carefully create tooling that carries the quality of our masters into the quality of
our production pieces.
Copyright Protection TierraCast protects its original designs from unauthorized reproduction
or sale under federal copyright law.
Centrifugal Casting Machines are used to fill production rubber molds with lead free tin alloy,
yielding cast wheels of pewter parts. Vibratory finishers and ceramic media are used to smooth and
prepare the pewter surfaces for plating. The silver, gold, or copper plated parts are then finished
with either waterproof ink or a chemical solution to highlight the design. Meticulous attention to
detail throughout these processes provides the consistent high quality of TierraCast jewelry findings.
