Watch our technique videos on the TierraCast Blog (look for Crimping with Barrel Beads).
Tip: Grasp cord at each end and stretch it before using. This will minimize stretching later.
Steps
- Fold one end of cord over 5”.
- Form button loop by tying both strands together in an overhand knot, forming a ¾” loop and leaving a 3” tail. (Fig 1)
- String three barrel beads onto cord, covering tail and bringing them next to knot.
- Tie both strands in second overhand knot after last barrel bead. Add small drop of glue into knot and tighten securely.
- String gemstone beads onto long end of cord.
- String final barrel bead.
- Attach button by threading cord through shank, then passing back through barrel bead. (Fig 2)
- Use flat nose pliers to crimp barrel bead until secure. (Option: Add small drop of glue into barrel bead before crimping for added security.)
- Trim excess cord at both ends of bracelet.
