Tips: Psalm 23 bracelet patterns may vary! To add length increase the number of beads in the seed bead section. (Six stitches and 3 beads adds about 1/2".) If you use a thicker cord the stitches will be longer. Test pattern and adjust seed bead count as needed. For thicker cords, omit needle and create one with super glue instead: apply a light layer of glue to about 1" at the end of cord. Wipe off quickly, twisting between fingers, and allow to dry.

Steps

  1. Working on the spool, place the big-eye needle about 6" from the end of the cord.
  2. String crystal beads in the following order: white, green, blue, clear/silver, black, brown (we substituted dk.green), orange, red, purple, gold, then charm and 13 seed beads. Slide all beads about 24" down the cord and remove needle.
  3. Form a slipknot in the cord, leaving an 8" tail. Work a total of 16 chain stitches, keeping stitches fairly small. Loop the chain so the first and last stitches form a loop. Chain these together, forming the clasp loop, then work 1 chain stitch.
  4. *Slide seed bead to last stitch made. Work 1 chain stitch over the bead, then work 1 plain chain stitch*. Repeat * through * 12 times, then work 1 plain stitch.
  5. Work 1 chain stitch with the charm, then 2 plain stitches.
  6. †Work 1 chain stitch with first crystal bead, then 2 plain stitches†. Repeat † through † 9 times.
  7. Cut bracelet from spool, leaving an 8" tail.
  8. Thread the needle onto the tail. Pass through the button shank three times.
  9. Pass needle through last chain stitch and pull tight, then remove needle. Wrap tail around chain and form a half hitch knot, tightening securely. Repeat if desired.
  10. Repeat Step 9 with tail at other end. Add a small amount of glue to both knots and allow to dry, then trim cord.
