Tip: Pre-stretch the C Lon cord before stringing beads to prevent slack in the crochet.

Steps

  1. Place the big-eye needle about 6" from the end of the cord.
  2. String {1 round 2mm bead and 1 size 6 seed bead} thirty times. String 1 round 2mm bead. String {1 heishi 5mm nugget and 1 heishi 7mm nugget} nine times. String 1 heishi 5mm nugget and 1 round 2mm bead. Remove the needle.
  3. Form a slipknot, leaving a 12" tail. Work a total of 16 chain stitches. Loop the chain so the first and last stitches form a loop. Chain these together with the last round 2mm bead strung incorporated into the stitch, forming the clasp loop.
  4. Work 20 chain stitches with 1 nugget bead in each stitch.
  5. Work {1 plain chain stitch and 1 beaded chain stitch} sixty times. (2mm beads and 6° seed beads)
  6. Place the big-eye needle at the end of the cord. Pass through the button three times.
  7. Use a square knot to tie the cord to itself on the wrong side of the button and trim.
