Tips:

  • Begin or end stringing with the bail. Its large hole is perfect for hiding the knot!
  • If adding beads for a larger bracelet 3 beads is about 1/2", so add beads to each block of color accordingly. (Example: adding 3 beads to each block/wrap - a total of 15 beads - will make an approx. 7 1/4" bracelet.)
  • When doing a lot of stretch cord stringing brush a little bit of super glue onto about 1" of the end of the cord. It stiffens it just a bit which makes the stringing easier. When you're done cut that bit off before you tie your knot.

Steps

  1. Cut about 40" of stretch cord, or work directly on spool. Pre-stretch by pulling firmly from both ends a few times.
  2. If using cord cut from the spool, attach a bead stopper about 3" from one end.
  3. String on bail, then *10 purple fire-polish beads and one 8/0 bead*. Repeat * through * once.
  4. Switching to blue beads string * through * 4 times. Repeat with green, yellow and red beads.
  5. String 10 purple beads, one 8/0 bead and 10 purple beads.
  6. Secure ends of stretch cord together with a surgeon's knot (Fig 1) next to bail, making sure all slack is taken up. Pull cord from all directions to make sure knot is secure. Add a small drop of adhesive or nail polish and allow to dry.
  7. Once dry, thread one tail through bail to other side and pull knot inside. Trim cord ends close to knot.
  8. Open jump ring and attach to bail. Before closing add charm. Close jump ring.
